Skin Care Tips For Winter

Winter season is the best season among all, but it is not best for our skin. Winter means bad skin as the cold weather and low humidity steals the moisture from the skin resulting in the dry and rough skin. This dry skin leads to chapping, redness, itching, cracking and bleeding or even eczema. To keep your skin more healthy and comfortable this season it is very important to follow certain skin care tips which will help your skin to face this dry weather with courage.

1. Wash Face With Lukewarm Water :- Hot showers seem to be good in winters, but actually they are the main reasons for dryness as it steals the moisture from the skin. So, Wash your face and feet with lukewarm water to avoid dryness in winter.

2. Apply Moisturizer Immediately After Bath :- Although moisturizer is very a good source to keep dryness away, but applying it immediately after a shower will help your skin to retain the moisture for a long time.

3. Use Moisturizing Soap :- Make sure you use the non-drying soap or the moisturizing soap in winters to avoid the unnecessary dryness and itching in the skin.

4. Stay Hydrated :- Lack of water content in the body is one of the most important reasons for dryness in the skin. Keep drinking water on a regular basis to keep your body and skin hydrated. Also, warm water with lemon can be very refreshing and hydrating.

5. Eat Healthy :- Eating foods with good water content helps in hydrating the body from inside which will also help in removing the dryness of skin. Eat many fresh and juicy fruits and drink juices to remain healthy and hydrated.

6. Use Winter Products :- Do not use the summer cleanser or moisturizer in winter as it will cause dry skin. Swap the summer products with winter care products like a good, oil-based moisturizer to keep the skin moisturized and soft. Apply a hydrating toner and moisturizer to seal in moisture.

7. Regularly Use Sunscreen :- As the winter sun can be just as damaging as the summer sun, so protect your skin from sun damage by applying sunscreen regularly in winters as well. Always use sunscreen before stepping out of your house.

8. Gain Overnight Moisture :- The hands, feet, elbows, and knees have thin skin and so tends to lose the moisturizer quicker than other parts of the body. Apply the deep moisturizer balm on the feet and hand, then wear socks and gloves to retain the moisturizer all over the night.

9. Homemade DIY Mask :- Natural homemade moisturizer will lock the moisturizer in skin for a long time. Use the ingredients like honey, almond oil, bananas, avocado, yogurt, olive oils, jojoba oils and aloe. Mix 2-3 products of your choice to create a paste or cream. Leave them on skin after applying for 20-30 minutes before washing for lasting hydration.

10. Avoid Certain foods in winter :- Avoid the cold food products like ice-cream and milkshakes. Do not eat heavy cheesy, fried and sugary foods in winters.

To have a glowing and radiant skin in winters just like the other seasons follows these simple home remedies to avoid the dry skin.
